SOUTHWEST TOURS (BORACAY), INC. is the pioneer tourist transport service company in the Philippines serving the paradise island of Boracay. It is popularly known under the brand name, Southwest Tours. Started in 1991, Southwest Tours offers land and sea transfers to local and foreign tourists, from the moment they step foot at the Kalibo International Airport or the Caticlan Airport, to the time they feel Boracay’s powder-white sand between their toes.
As of 2016, Southwest Tours provides transfer services to guests of most hotels and resorts in Boracay, as well as over 1,500 travel agencies from all over the Philippines, and individual travellers booking online. It has also forged partnerships with airline companies and sea vessel provider with regular daily trips to and from Boracay, where Southwest transfer tickets are sold on-board international and domestic trips. In addition, the Southwest Tours develops and markets tour packages and land arrangement for other major destinations in Western Visayas and nearby areas, including Iloilo City, Roxas City in Capiz, Kalibo in Aklan, San Jose in Antique, Guimaras Island, Bohol, Palawan, Cebu, Bacolod and Negros. The company now maintains offices in five major locations, managed and run by over 300 personnel.
As of 2017, Southwest Tours has many buses, mini buses, coasters, vans, taxis, and speedboats. It maintains partnerships with cab providers on the island of Boracay, as well as island activity providers, ranging from island hopping and aquanaut diving to parasailing. Southwest Tours now provides 24/7 online booking and customer assistance. Accredited by the Philippines’ Department of Tourism (DOT), Southwest Tours is also registered with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). Enchanted Kingdom opened to the public on October 19, 1995. It was and still is the first and only world-class theme park in the Philippines. The theme park boasts of rides and attractions unique to the country in size and magnitude. These rides and attractions are located within seven meticulously themed zones interspersed with food and merchandise outlets and kiosks as well as various game stands that add to the “enchanting experience”, away from the day-to-day realities of life.
Enchanted Kingdom is also a choice venue for (1) personal milestones, such as birthdays, weddings, and debuts; (2) corporate events, namely, conferences, company anniversaries, awarding ceremonies, product launches, and EK Magicalympics team building; and (3) school events, such as commencement exercises, Junior-Senior prom, and sports events. Enchanted Kingdom can cater to in-park group reservations from 10,000 to 25,000 guests in various themed environments in the Park’s seven zones or in its enchanting events venues: Eldar’s Theater (600-seater), Boardwalk Party Place (300-seater), and Enchanting Events Place (2,000-seater). Enchanted Kingdom boasts of “themed entertainment” in each zone. It also has a variety of musical shows throughout the season using in-house and TV network partner talents. Entertainment and special events are usually held at any of the aforementioned venues.
Currently, Enchanted Kingdom is exploring ways to expand into other ventures like Edutainment. Through the spirit of participation in education-related undertakings, the theme park can greatly help in the future of the country’s educational backbone.
