What began as a conversation and shared vision between PHILTOA and the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines TPB) has now become action; from discussion, to MOU, to fulfillment.

From August 17–20 in El Nido, Palawan, the PHILTOA–TPB VolunTOURism partnership, together with Save Palawan Seas Foundation as CSR and environmental conservation partner, transformed the usual CSR activity into a meaningful and impactful tourism journey.

Tree Planting – giving back to the destination through environmental stewardship.

Community-Based Tourism (CBT) – engaging communities, understanding their stories and livelihoods, and recognizing them as partners in tourism.

School Engagement – combining learning, care, and meaningful connection with local learners.

Business Networking – creating opportunities to connect local enterprises and tourism stakeholders.

VolunTOURism Mentorship – led by PHILTOA President Maria Lourdes “Malou” Japson as resource person, sharing how CSR can be transformed into a niche tourism product that creates value for travelers, communities, and destinations.

The partnership was further recognized as PHILTOA received a Certificate of Appreciation from TPB and the LGUs of El Nido, Palawan for its valuable contribution to this impactful CSR initiative integrated with tourism.

CSR + TOURISM = VOLUNTOURISM

This is what happens when partnership moves beyond paper and becomes purpose in action.

A discussion became a commitment.

An MOU became fulfillment.

And fulfillment became impact.
