The Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), represented by our Treasurer, Ms. Linda Tan, participated in the Regional Ecotourism Committee (REC) 1st Semestral Meeting.

The meeting focused on the review and evaluation of nominated ecotourism sites in the region to ensure their compliance with the country’s ecotourism standards.

Following the assessment, 4 out of the 11 nominated ecotourism sites successfully met the established requirements and were endorsed for recognition as accredited ecotourism sites.

The remaining sites were found to have areas requiring further improvement and will be recommended for reassessment after two (2) years, subject to compliance with the identified requirements and standards.

As the country’s premier association of tour operators, PHILTOA continues to be the trusted partner of both the government and the private sector for consultation, collaboration, and collective action in advancing sustainable tourism development and industry progress.
